Applications
High-temperature structural steel: Collectors, water boiler and superheater tubes (530oC).

Soft Annealing
Heat to 680-720oC, cool slowly in furnace.
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 910-940oC followed by oil or air quenching.
Tempering
Tempering temperature: 650-720oC.

Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1100-850oC.
Excellent characteristics
(1) The heat treatment hardness of DC53 is higher than that of SKD11:
DC53 high temperature (520-530 ºC) after tempering can reach 62-63HRC high hardness, therefore, the strength and wear resistance of DC53 can exert its performance more than SKD11
(2) The toughness is twice as high as SKD11:
Among the tool steels for cold working, DC53 has the highest toughness, so it can prevent cracking and chipping of tools and molds.
Cracks and cracks appear, increasing the service life;
(3) DC53 can improve the huge carbide of SKD11:
The size of DC53's huge carbides is improved to less than 1/3 of SKD11, so it can prevent the chipping (Chipping) that causes mold damage.
Practical features
(1) Machinability and abrasion are better than SKD11, so the tool life is longer and the number of processing hours is less.
(2) The quench hardening energy is higher than SKD11, so it can improve the defect of insufficient hardness during vacuum heat treatment.
(3) The high temperature tempering can reduce the residual stress and eliminate the residual austenitic iron, which can prevent the cracking and deformation of the wire cutting process.
(4) The surface hardness after surface hardening is higher than that of SKD11, so the performance of the mold can be improved.
(5) Since the preheating and postheating temperatures are lower than SKD11, the repair welding operation is relatively simple.
