6)Advantages of titanium alloy
Compared with other metal materials, titanium alloys have the following advantages:
A)The specific strength (tensile strength / density) is higher (see figure), the tensile strength can reach 100 ~ 140kgf / mm2, and the density is only 60% of steel.
B)The medium temperature strength is good, the use temperature is a few hundred degrees higher than that of aluminum alloy, it can still maintain the required strength at medium temperature, and can work for a long time at a temperature of 450 ~ 500 ºC.

But in a reducing medium, such as hydrochloric acid, the corrosion resistance of titanium is poor.

Heat treatment Titanium alloy can obtain different phase composition and structure by adjusting the heat treatment process. It is generally believed that fine equiaxed structures have better plasticity, thermal stability and fatigue strength; needle-like structures have higher endurance strength, creep strength and fracture toughness; equiaxed and needle-like mixed structures have better comprehensive properties.
Commonly used heat treatment methods are annealing, solution treatment and aging treatment. Annealing is to eliminate internal stress, improve plasticity and organizational stability to obtain better overall performance. Generally, the annealing temperature of α alloy and (α + β) alloy is chosen to be 120 ~ 200 ºC below the transition point of (α + β)-→ β phase; solid solution and aging treatment are rapid cooling from high temperature area to obtain martensite α ′ Phase and meta-stable β phase, and then incubate in the middle temperature zone to decompose these meta-stable phases to obtain finely dispersed second phase particles such as α phase or compound to achieve the purpose of strengthening the alloy. Normally, the quenching of (α + β) alloy is carried out at 40 ~ 100 ºC below the transition point of (α + β)-→ β phase, and the quenching of metastable β alloy is 40 ~ 80 ºC above the transition point of (α + β)-→ β phase get on. Aging treatment temperature is generally 450 ~ 550 ºC. In addition, in order to meet the special requirements of the workpiece, the industry also adopts double annealing, isothermal annealing, β heat treatment, deformation heat treatment and other metal heat treatment processes.

1: The chemical composition of titanium and titanium alloy bars should comply with the provisions of GB / T 3620.1, and the tolerance deviation of the chemical composition should comply with the provisions of GB / T 3620.2 when the buyer retests.
2: The diameter or side length of the hot-processed bar and its allowable deviation should meet the requirements of Table 1.
3: After hot working, the diameter of the cold-drawn bar and the cold-rolled bar (ground) and cold-rolled bar should be in accordance with the requirements of Table 2.
4: The out-of-roundness of the bar after turning (grinding) after hot processing should not be greater than half of its dimensional tolerance.
