SUMIHARD-K400 is a hardened wear-resistant steel produced by Sumiko Metals Industries, a world-renowned steel company, with an average grade of 400HBW and a Bushhardness.
Steel characteristics
The microscopic structure of the wear-resistant steel is the Marheist structure, which guarantees the high hardness and tensile hardness of the steel plate. The SUMIHARD-K400 is 2.5 times harder than the S355 structural steel. High hardness and tensile strength make the SUMIHARD-K400 highwear in rolling contact. Despite its high hardness and high strength, the SUMIHARD-K400 can be molded with free bending or curling and has good weldability. Because of its ability to withstand rolling contact and wear at higher surface pressures, the hardened steel can be used to significantly reduce costs associated with structural component wear and tear.
