1.Product Description
MONEL K500 is a age-hardenable Nickel-Copper alloy which combines the corrosion resistance of Alloy 400 with high strength corrosion fatigue and erosion resistance.
MONEL K500 is a nickel-copper alloy, precipitation hardenable through additions of aluminum and titanium. MONEL K500 retains the excellent corrosion resistant characteristics of 400 and has enhanced strength and hardness after precipitation hardening when compared with 400. Alloy K500 has approximately three (3) times the yield strength and double the tensile strength when compared with 400. MONEL K500 can be further strengthened by cold working before the precipitation hardening

Application of Monel K500
Monel K-500 alloy finds wide applications in the marine, chemical, petrochemical and shipbuilding industries. Typical applications include:
- Valve seals, pump sleeves and wear rings in marine environments - high strength and resistance to seawater
- Pump shafts for fire-fighting pumps - high strength (resulting in smaller diameter shafts) and resistance to flowing seawater
- Propeller shafts - high strength (resulting in smaller diameter shafts and thus smaller bearings) and resistance to seawater
- Fasteners e.g. bolts, used in marine atmospheres and tidal waters - resistance to chloride - containing environments
- Doctor blades and scrapers
- Towing cable armoring - high strength, non-magnetic properties and resistance to seawater
- Springs - resistance to a variety of corrosive media
- Oil well drilling equipment such as non-magnetic drill collars, valves and instrumentation sleeves - resistance to chloride-containing media and sour gas environments

(1) Regular cleaning and maintenance
(2) Pay attention to prevent the occurrence of the phenomenon of surface scratches
(3) Use soap, weak detergent or warm water to remove surface dust, dirt
(4) In addition to the surface of the binder with alcohol or an organic solvent (ether, benzene)
(5) Use neutral detergent or ammonia solution in addition to surface oil
